Evaluation Meeting are now a common part of the hiring process and generally follow the format of in-person interviews. Use these tips to boost your comfort and confidence for a successful virtual interview.

Test Your Technology

Check the Evaluation Meeting Link: Ensure the link provided works properly before the Evaluation Meeting starts. Verify Equipment: Test your audio, video camera, microphone, and screen-sharing functions. Maintain Eye Contact: Look at the camera to create a natural interaction. Minimize Distractions: Mute notifications, close unnecessary applications, and silence your mobile phone. If there’s background noise, keep your microphone muted.

Prepare Your Environment

Choose a Quiet Space: Select a quiet and well-lit area for the Evaluation Meeting. Declutter Your Background: Remove any distracting objects and opt for a neutral background if possible. Handle Emergencies Gracefully: If you must take an emergency call, inform the staffs, mute your microphone, and turn off your video before stepping away.

Present Your Best Self

Connect Your Achievements: Relate your past successes to the role’s requirements with clear examples. Effective Communication: Take your time to answer questions thoughtfully. Prepare questions to ask the staffs / client to ensure you understand the role and next steps.
