From "A Bit Worried" to a 10% Raise in 2 Months: Bich’s Story of Working for a Korean Client
Are you thinking about a remote job? Curious about working for a Korean company?
You might feel a little nervous. Guess what? So did Bich, one of Pickdi’s first members. She joined when Pickdi didn't even have a website!
Today, Bich is a successful Customer Service Expert for Anua - a top K-Beauty brand, working with both Vietnamese and Singaporean markets. We asked her about her journey, the "surprises," and what it’s really like.
Bich's Favorite Moment:
"I was so surprised! After only 1-2 months, our CEO proactively asked the client for a 10% raise for our team. We didn't even ask! And the Korean client agreed immediately. We were so happy. It proved that Pickdi and our client really, really value our work."
Q: Hi Bich! We heard you were one of Pickdi’s first members. Were you nervous to join a new remote company?
Bich - Yes, honestly, I was a bit worried! (laughs). When I applied, Pickdi was brand new. There was no website, no LinkedIn, nothing! It was just a job post from the CEO, on Facebook. But after I talked to him, I felt I could trust him. So I took a chance. And I’ve been here for over a year now. It was a great decision!
Q: You already shared the amazing 10% raise story! Are there any other "nice" things about working with your Korean client?
Bich - Yes! Because we work for a K-Beauty brand (Anua), the client sends us all their products to try for free. This is a great perk! It also helps us do our jobs better. When we use the products, we can understand them and give real, honest advice to customers. It shows they trust us.
Q: What about your team? When you work remotely, do you feel alone?
Bich - Not at all! My CS team is amazing. There are only 3 of us, but Pickdi built a very "smart" team. Get this: one of my teammates is a Pharmacist!
So, when a customer asks a very deep, scientific question about ingredients, we have an expert who can answer it perfectly. It feels great to know we have that kind of support. We all learn from each other.
Q: In your one year here, what new skills have you learned?
Bich - So many! This is not a boring job. I learned to be more skillful in communication, especially with difficult customers. I also learned to think quickly when there is a problem. And, because I work with the Singapore market, my English skills have improved a lot.
Q: Do you have any final advice for Vietnamese candidates who are thinking about applying to Pickdi?
Bich - If you are thinking about it, just do it! I understand if you feel a little nervous, just like I was. But Pickdi is a very trustworthy company that really cares about its members. The Korean clients are respectful and appreciate good work. You will learn a lot, and it's a "chill" and fun remote job. Apply now
