Meet Ruby: How She Found Work-Life Balance and Amazing Support with a Remote Job!

Q: Hi Ruby! Let's be honest. Many Vietnamese candidates see jobs on social media and worry they might be a scam. Were you worried? Ruby - Yes, I was! My friends even told me it was probably a scam So, I did my own research. I searched for PICKDI and learned what they do. I found out they are a real, professional company that connects Vietnamese talent (like us!) with Korean clients. After I checked, I felt safe and decided to apply. And I'm so happy I did!

Q: So, what is the best thing about your remote job? Ruby - The work-life balance is amazing. Before, I spent so much time in traffic. Now, I save about 2 hours every single day because I don't have to travel. I don't worry about traffic jams or bad weather. I can focus on my work, and I'm still able to pick up my kids, cook dinner, and take care of my family. It’s a perfect fit for me.

Q: Do you feel lonely working remote? Many people worry they'll have no support. Ruby - This was the biggest surprise for me. You are NOT alone! I thought I would just work directly with the client, and that's it. But the PICKDI team is always there to support me. My Account Manager, Everlynn, helps me with everything. Even small things! On my first day, I was nervous and didn't know how to talk to my Korean client. Evelyn gave me advice and made me feel comfortable. I was so surprised and happy to have that kind of help.

Q: What is it really like to work with Korean clients? Is it stressful? Ruby - It's exciting and interesting! They are very professional. The most important thing I learned is that they like things to be fast and clear. I had a funny story: I usually work on industrial products. But one day, my client suddenly asked me to find the price for food! It was a complete surprise, but I knew they needed it fast. So, I replied in 20 minutes just to say, "I'm checking on this for you." Then, I quickly found the information. It’s a fun challenge, and you learn to be quick and flexible. It's never boring!

Q: So, how do you build trust with the client when you're not in the same office? Ruby - It's all about clear communication. My workday is very structured. I start my day, check my to-do list, and get to work. I use KakaoTalk to send important messages to my client. I also share a Google Sheet with them so they can see my progress anytime they want. They don't have to ask me all the time; they can just look. This way, they trust me to do my job, and I can focus. It’s a great system.
